Silicone custom molding technology commonly used:

1. Solid state hot pressing
This technology uses the temperature and pressure of the hydraulic press to vulcanize the product with the help of a mold. This technology is mostly used in single-color silicone customized products. It can also be applied to custom-made two-color and two-hardness silicone products or multi-color and multi-hardness, plastic-coated and metal-coated. There are temperature requirements for the packaged objects. Generally, the packaged objects are required to be resistant to 180 degrees Celsius without deformation, and the silicone rubber is heat-resistant after molding. Can reach about 230 degrees.

2. Liquid injection molding
This is a two-component translucent liquid silicone rubber material suitable for injection molding. Injection molding liquid silicone is generally a new type of processing system formed by vulcanizing liquid silicone with excellent performance and combining equipment that can complete injection molding precisely and stably. Injection molding liquid silicone only needs to put two kinds of liquid materials, AB, into the equipment. From mixing to molding, it is fully automated. While pursuing to simplify the process and shorten the processing time, it can also easily achieve high-quality liquid silicone. Customized product processing. . The vulcanization molding temperature of liquid silicone rubber is generally between 110 °C and 150 °C, so the deformation temperature of the embedded object should be at least 150 °C or more. .

3. Extrusion
Just like common water pipes, extrusion molding means that the material passes through the action between the extruder barrel and the screw. While being heated and vulcanized, it is pushed forward by the screw and continuously passes through the head to make various cross-section products or semi-finished products. a processing method. The extruder head is also the cross-sectional shape of the product and has a certain length. Under the action of force and temperature, the product coming out of the head has been vulcanized and formed. The customized silicone products formed by this process are generally strip-shaped products, and the product cross-section can be various. For example, rectangular strips, annular silicone tubes, etc.

SIZE CUSTOMIZED SIZE LIMIT

In the process of customized silicone rubber processing, different processing and manufacturing technologies will have their product size limitations. In terms of solid-state molding technology, they are divided into:
1. The product size is limited. The thickness of customized silicone products can reach 30-70mm in the processing process. It mainly depends on the shape of the product. If the size is longer and thicker, some parts may cause immaturity. The curing time It will also grow with the thickness, so the general size is recommended to be within 30mm.

The thinnest part of the customized silicone rubber product can be between 0.3-0.5mm. Since the silicone rubber material has a certain stretch during the vulcanization process, if it is too thin, the stretchability will not be good. 0.3mm, and it needs to be determined according to the characteristics of different raw materials and production parameters.

2. Product size, the maximum size of silicone customized products in the molding process depends on the machine. Generally, the size of the machine is between 150 tons and 500 tons, and it can generally reach about 550-650mm. 3. Silicone shrinkage, because silicone is an elastomer, there is a certain shrinkage between the mold and the silicone product. Generally, the shrinkage of customized silicone products is between 1.022 and 1.045, so the silicone is generally calculated during the mold processing process. The shrinkage rate of raw materials is calculated, the mold will be larger than the 3D drawing file, the softer the hardness, the greater the shrinkage rate. The shrinkage rate of each raw material is different, even the same batch of materials will have different shrinkage rates. There will be some differences in the finished product made by each hole in multiple holes.

4. Silicone hardness, the conventional hardness of the raw material of the solid silicone customized product is between 50-70 degrees, and the larger the value, the harder it is. The hardness of the commonly used silicone baking mold is about 60 degrees, and if it is softer, it will drop to 50 degrees or 40 degrees. Silicone hardness can be adjusted as required.

5. Dimensional tolerance of silicone rubber. Since silicone rubber is an elastomer with multiple cavities in one mold, customized silicone rubber products will have certain tolerances, which are generally limited to the standard tolerance of rubber.

Silicone product customization process

In recent years, more and more consumers are attracted by the characteristics of silicone products, such as environmental protection, safety and non-toxicity, which makes silicone products appear very frequently in life. 1. Confirm the demand, and provide the engineering 3D drawing file (Stp, Step, Igs format file) by the customer, and we will evaluate the feasibility of customizing the development of silicone rubber according to the 3D drawing file. The evaluation points include (1) the feasibility of 3D drawing and mold opening (2) the required quantity (3) the required time (4) the required budget.

2. Provide a quotation, and the manufacturing method will be evaluated according to the characteristics of the product, such as solid-state hot pressing, liquid injection molding, or extrusion molding. It is the sample mold cost, mass production mold cost, and product unit price of customized products.

3. Confirm the order, if the customer approves the quotation, please prepay the mold fee and deposit according to the payment method of the quotation.

4. Open the sample mold and proofing, open the sample mold and proofing according to the product type, color, hardness, quality, quantity and other requirements required by the customer. After the silicone product proofing is completed, the engineers will compare the customer’s requirements as soon as possible to confirm that it meets the customer’s requirements. The first batch of samples will be submitted to the customer only after the requirements are met. After the customer receives the sample, he will make an evaluation of the sample. If the product meets the demand standard, he can agree to start mass production according to the sample. If the first batch of samples does not meet the customer’s needs, the customer will give feedback as soon as possible, and we will modify or re-proof the sample according to the customer’s opinion, until the sample that satisfies the customer is printed, and then mass production can be carried out. (Generally speaking, the sample is to open a cavity mold first, which can save costs and facilitate the modification of the mold after getting the sample, etc.)

4. Open the mass production mold. After confirming the sample, the mass production mold is opened. The mass production mold selects the corresponding number of holes according to the size and quantity of the product. For some products, the quantity is large, and even several sets of molds are required to be produced at the same time to meet the customer’s delivery. Expect. Therefore, the quotation of silicone custom products is not as simple as we imagined, and we need to know more details to provide better and more cost-effective solutions. After the mass production mold is processed, it is the test mode. After the intermediate mass production mold is produced, it may be necessary to repair the mold before the production is completed.

5. Mass production, after the mass production mold is opened, the molding operator will mass-produce the customized silicone products required by the customer, and the mold cannot be replaced until the current order is completed in shift production. 6. Subsequent processing, after mass production of silicone rubber products, there are other subsequent processes such as oil injection, printing, assembly and other processes.

7. Quality inspection of edge removal. After removing the burrs of silicone custom products, it needs to go through quality inspection, and regular inspection by special personnel to see if it is the same as the standard product, without burrs, dirt, or other undesirable phenomena. If there is a defect, analyze the problem, solve the problem quickly, and ensure that all shipments are good products.

8. Packing and delivery, the silicone products are packaged according to customer needs after the completion of the product. After customers receive silicone products, they need to check and store them immediately. If you find that the quality is missing, please notify us immediately for processing.
